These unique artisan earrings are created by masking off sections of the pieces and treating them with electrical currents. Different colors are achieved by controlling the actual voltage. The artist removes areas of the masking as desired colors and patterns appear. This color phenomenon is often found in nature. These colors are permanent; use glass cleaner to keep their brightness. The ear wires are sterling silver plated with 18K gold but are left as silver where they rest in your ear. The earrings are 1" x 2". The blue stones are Paua Shell.

These earrings are representative of the Caring for Carcinoid Foundation's logo which reflects its mission to find a cure for neuroendocrine tumors.  "The sunflower's appearance reminds us of power, warmth, nourishment, and longevity.  The flower symbolizes constancy as it turns to follow the sun."
